[김현우 기자 = 가평] 24일 새벽 3시경 가평군 조종면 청군로의 군부대 영외 간부 숙소 1층에서 화재가 발생해 군인 십수명이 치료를 받고 있는 것으로 알려진다. 

화재 신고를 접수한 가평소방서는 3시 08분여 경 현장에 도착했고 약 1시간 만에 화재를 진압했다.

이날 현장에는 소방차량 16대, 구급차량 6대, 기타차량(경찰, 한국전력공사 등) 21대 등 총 43대가 출동했으며, 소방대원 82명과 의용소방대원 20명이 출동해 화재를 진압했다.

이번 화재로 인해 숙소 내에 있던 간부 대원들은 연기 흡입으로 인해 포천과 양주 등에 있는 국군병원으로 나누어 이송돼 치료받고, 현재 휴식 중인 것으로 파악됐다. 

군 관계자에 따르면 다행스럽게도 현재 대부분 환자는 경미한 상태며, 화재 원인은 다음 주까지 감식을 통해 밝힐 예정이라고 전해진다.
