이번 지방세외수입 운영평가는 전국 243개 지자체를 대상으로 인구와 재정현황에 따라 13개 그룹으로 구분해 징수율 등의 정량평가(70점)와 자구 노력도 등 정성평가(30점)를 합산한 결과를 발표한 것이라고 했다. 

고성군은 행정안전부가 실시한 2021년 지방세외수입운영평가에서 우수 지자체로 선정되며 기관 표창과 함께 2,000만원의 재정인센티브(교부세)를 받게 되었다고 전했다.

고성군은 세외수입 전담조직을 구성해 오래된 체납액을 징수하기 위한 체납처분을 강화하는 한편 코로나19 피해 소상공인에 대한 임대료 감면을 실시하는 등 모든 평가항목에서 고른 점수를 받았다고 했다.

함명준 고성군수는 “어려운 경제 상황 속에서도 납부의무를 성실히 이행해주신 군민들에게 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 세외수입 확보에 노력하여 군 재정의 안정적 운영을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
