[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 대한적십자사 포천지구 화현봉사회는 지난 7월 30일, 소외계층을 돕기 위한 ‘희망의 삼계탕’ 나눔행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 이른 아침부터 봉사준비로 고생한 화현봉사회를 격려하기 위해 백영현 포천시장이 현장을 방문해 함께 음식을 준비했으며, 화현봉사회 자원봉사자 10여 명이 삼계탕 50인분, 제육볶음 50인분을 비롯해 화현면에서 생산되는 오이, 콩나물 등 채소와 간식거리를 홀몸 어르신 등 소외계층 50가구에 전달했다.

정선아 회장은 “무더위로 힘든 어르신들이 삼계탕으로 더위를 이겨내시길 바라는 마음에 이번 행사를 준비하게 됐다. 봉사활동을 위해 음식을 같이 준비해주신 백영현 포천시장님께 감사의 말씀을 드린다.”고 말했다.

백영현 포천시장은 “지역사회 어르신들을 위해 매번 봉사활동을 해 주시는 대한적십자사 화현봉사회에 감사하다. 봉사활동을 하는 데 부족함이 없도록 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다.”고 전했다.
