<김일웅기자= 의정부> 김동근 의정부시장은 지난 3월 11일 ‘중랑천 청보리 밟아보리(보리밟기)’ 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사의 최근 따뜻해진 날씨와 함께 다가올 봄을 맞이하고 한해 건강과 풍년을 기원하는 마음에서 김동근 시장은 이번생태하천과, 호원권역, 신곡권역, 장암동 직원들이 함께 발을 맞춰 보리를 밟고 시의 새로운 도약을 기원하는 자리로 마련됐다고 밝혔다.

중랑천 청보리 군락지는 민선 8기를 들어서면서 ‘걷고싶은 명품도시’의 일환으로 추진됐으며, 작년부터 하천 산책로(중랑천 좌안 인도교~호암교, 면적 10,000㎡)에 중랑천 청보리 군락지를 만들어 이색적인 볼거리 제공은 물론, 바쁜 일상 속 시민 힐링의 공간으로 활용해 하천의 새로운 변화를 끌어냈다.

김동근 시장은 “어려운 상황에서도 뿌리를 내리고 싹을 틔우는 보리처럼 올 한 해 시민에게 행복과 희망을 드리는 의정부시를 만들 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
