[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 4월 8일, 의정부시자원봉사센터는 의정부 관내 소외계층을 위한  사랑의 쌀 4kg, 177포대 전달식을 진행하였다고 밝혔다. 

의정부 소상공인을 지원하기 위하여 KT의정부지사에서 의정부 제일시장 번영회를 통해 구매한 쌀은 대한노인회 의정부시지회, 한꿈학교, 우리밥집을 통해 의정부 곳곳 소외된 이웃들에게 전달될 예정이라고 전했다. 

 KT의정부지사는 의정부시 자원봉사자 및 시민들을 위하여 의정부시자원봉사센터의 사업 및 프로그램에 다양한 후원들을 지속하여 오고 있으며, 이번 쌀 후원을 통해 지역사회 소상공인 및 소외계층 지원을 동시에 진행하여 지역사회의 긍정적인 평가를 받고 있다고 했다. 

배장원 KT의정부지사장은 “장기화된 코로나19로 인해 도움의 손길이 필요한 이웃들이 다시 웃을 수 있도록 빈틈없는 지원과 꾸준한 노력을 지속하겠다.”라고 말하며, "추후 의정부시의 소외계층을 위한 지원을 지속할 뜻"을 밝혔다. 

KT의정부지사와 소외계층을 연결하는데 큰 역할을 수행한 의정부시자원봉사센터의 이용걸 이사장은 “의정부시민을 위해서 항상 많은 후원을 해주시는 KT의정부지사에 감사드린다.”며“의정부시자원봉사센터도 자원봉사자들과 함께 지역사회 소외계층을 위한 노력을 지속하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
