[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11월 1일 양주시 광적면은 새마을부녀회가 새마을지도자와 함께 이웃돕기 기금 마련을 위해 경작한 무를 수확했다고 밝혔다.

이날 회원들은 지난 8월 효촌리 일대 휴경지에 파종해 3개월간 정성껏 키워온 무 2,000여개를 수확했으며, 수확한 무 판매 수익금은 연말 이웃돕기 기금으로 전액 사용할 예정이라고 했다.

박보윤 총회장은 “바쁜 일정에도 불구하고 이른 아침부터 수확행사에 참여해준 부녀회원들과 새마을지도자 분들께 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 봉사활동을 통해 소외계층을 돕는 활동을 지속적으로 이어나가겠다”고 전했다.

권순용 광적면장은 “언제나 지역주민을 위해 헌신하고 봉사하는 새마을부녀회와 함께 동참해 주신 지도자들의 노고에 깊은 감사를 드린다”며 “지속적인 봉사활동을 통해 지역주민들에게 사랑과 희망이 전달되고 지역복지 발전에도 큰 힘이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
