[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 4월부터 오는 12월까지 북부지방산림청은 학교 탄소중립 실현, 학교 내·외 청소년의 인식 제고를 위해 관내 중학생들을 대상으로 자유학기제와 연계한 탄소중립 숲교육을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

올해는 지난 2016년부터 전면 도입된 중학교 자유학기제와 연계해 탄소중립의 이해, 진로 탐색 및 체험활동 등 탄소중립 숲교육 프로그램을 개발해, 도시숲·학교숲 등에서 연 5,000여명의 관내 중학생들을 대상으로 운영할 계획이다.
