[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 오는 4월부터 11월까지 원주지방환경청은 사업장 환경 관리에 어려움을 겪고 있는 관내 중‧소규모의 환경오염물질 배출사업장을 대상으로 ‘탄소중립‧환경기술지원’을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

’환경기술지원‘은 중소사업장의 자율적 환경 관리 능력 제고를 위해 지난 2016년부터 실시해왔으며, 공공기관, 학계, 산업계 환경기술인으로 구성된 민간전문가가 신청 사업장의 특성을 고려하여 맞춤형 컨설팅과 자문을 제공한다.

기술지원단이 사업장의 기술지원 신청 내용을 사전 검토 후 현장을 방문하여 환경시설의 개선 조치가 필요한 부분을 설명하고 사후에 개선사항 이행 여부를 확인하는 방식으로 진행된다.

23년도 기술지원 대상 사업장은 총 15개소로 지원 내용은 대기 및 폐수 배출시설 적정 운영, 폐기물 적정 보관‧처리, 화학물질 관리법, 방지시설 설치 지원 국고보조사업 등을 안내한다. 또한 사업장에서 숙지하기 어려운 인‧허가제도 및 개정 환경법령에 대한 정보와 사업장별 생산공정도를 확인하여 오염물질 배출 저감방안도 함께 제시한다.

김정환 원주지방환경청장은 “탄소중립‧환경기술지원 제도가 사업장의 환경법령 준수율과 자율적 환경관리 능력을 높여 위반사항을 사전에 예방하는 데에 효과가 있을 것으로 기대하며, 관내 사업장의 적극적인 참여를 당부한다”고 말했다.
