[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 지난 21일 북부지방산림청은 고품질·무재해 숲가꾸기 사업 추진을 위해 산림기술사 및 국유림관리소 숲가꾸기 담당자 20여명과 함께 ‘숲가꾸기 담당자 직무역량 향상교육’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

본 교육은 국립 청태산 자연휴양림에서 실시하며, 공익림가꾸기 기본이론 및 추진요령, 신규담당자를 위한 추진 완료 사업지 설계도서 활용 담당자 중점 감독사항, 사업담당자 안전교육을 중점으로 진행됐다.

공익림가꾸기란 숲의 기능별 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 숲가꾸기 사업종으로 수원함양림, 생활환경보전림, 산림휴양림, 자연환경보전림, 산지재해방지림이 이에 해당한다.

이번 현장교육 대상지는 국립 청태산 자연휴양림 내 위치한 산림휴양림으로, 2021년 북부청 홍천국유림관리소에서 공익림가꾸기 사업을 추진한 낙엽송 조림지이다. 다양한 휴양기능을 발휘하는 특색있는 산림, 종다양성이 풍부하고 경관이 다양한 산림으로 조성하고자 추진됐다.

북부지방산림청에서는 올해 총 10,104ha의 숲가꾸기 사업을 추진하며, 그중 공익림가꾸기 사업 규모는 830ha로 2,075백만원을 투입하여 산림 기능 증진을 위한 사업을 추진한다. 관내 6개 관리소에서 각각 춘천 250ha, 홍천 250ha, 서울120ha, 수원 30ha, 인제 100ha, 민북지역 80ha 사업을 추진한다.
