[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 4일부터 9월 13일까지 의정부시 호원2동은 통장협의회 등 자생단체와 함께 관내 청소 취약지역을 대상으로 추석맞이 대청소를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 대청소는 추석을 맞아 그동안 쌓여있는 쓰레기들을 청소하여 쾌적한 생활환경을 만들기 위해 실시했으며, 코로나19 예방을 위해 여러 명이 한꺼번에 모이지 않고 자생단체별로 일정을 나누어 진행됐고, 현재 호원2동 자생단체는 매월 2회씩 각 담당하고 있는 구역에 대해 환경정화 활동을 실시하고 있다고 했다.

대청소 기간 통장협의회, 청소년지도협의회 2개의 자생단체가 참여하여 총 4회에 걸쳐 관내 쓰레기 취약지역에 대해 환경정화 활동을 실시했으며, 참여자들은 마스크 착용과 거리두기 실시 등 코로나19 방역 지침을 준수하며 청소작업을 했고, 대청소 구역은 회룡천변 산책로 및 호원동 차없는 거리, 호원초‧중등학교, 직동공원 주변 등으로, 해당구역은 유동 인구가 많아 쓰레기 무단 투기가 빈번하게 발생하는 곳이라고 했다.

이형순 호원2동 자치민원과장은 “매월 깨끗하고 쾌적한 호원2동을 만들기 위해 환경정화 활동에 참여해주시는 자생단체 회원분들께 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 앞으로도 관련부서와 협조하여 쓰레기 무단투기 단속과 환경정화 실시를 통해 주민 생활환경 개선을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
