[남상훈 기자] 지난 6일부터 14일까지 북부지방산림청은 군 사격 훈련 등으로 인한 산불로부터 인명 및 재산피해를 예방하기 위해 6개 군 사격장 관리부대와 함께 관·군 협력 산불 진화훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 훈련은 군 사격장 산불 초동대응을 위해 북부지방산림청 관내 주요 군 사격장 6개소에 무상대여한 산불진화기계화시스템을 활용해 현장여건에 맞는 실질적인 훈련이 되도록 했으며, 부대원들의 진화장비 사용에 대한 맞춤형 교육과 장비 점검도 병행 실시했다.

산불진화기계화시스템은 우리나라의 급한 경사와 좁은 길 등 험악한 산악지형을 반영하여 먼 거리에 위치한 산불을 신속하고 효율적으로 진화하기 위하여 도입된 시스템으로, 파주 1군단 등 6개 군 사격장 관리부대에 지난 2017년부터 무상대여를 통해 매년 주기적인 장비 점검 및 진화 훈련·교육을 실시해 왔다.

임하수 청장은 “관·군 협력을 더욱 강화하여 올해도 지속적인 산불방지 훈련 및 교육으로 산불로부터 피해를 최소화하겠다.”라고 말했다.
