[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 7일부터 양주시 회천2동 행정복지센터는 노인일자리와 사회활동 지원 사업인 ‘거리환경개선 사업’을 시작했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업에 참여하는 어르신들은 10개조로 편성해 2월부터 오는 12월까지 주 3회 1일 3시간씩 덕계동, 회정동 내 정해진 구역에서 도로변 쓰레기 줍기 등 쾌적한 환경조성을 위해 활동한다고 했다.

또한 오는 2월 11일 경기섬유종합지원센터에서 참여 어르신 대상으로 회천노인복지관이 주관하는 안전사고 예방교육을 진행할 예정이며, 회천2동행정복지센터에서는 청소물품 지원, 방역활동 등 원활한 사업 수행을 위해 적극 지원할 계획이라고 전했다.

홍미영 회천2동장은 “깨끗한 회천2동을 만들기 위해 애쓰고 계시는 어르신들께 감사하다”며 “어르신들이 안전을 최우선으로 건강하고 활기차게 일자리에 참여할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
