[안종욱기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 4월 19일 오전 6시부터, 가평읍 주민자치위원회위원 20명이 나눔의 동산과 6.25반공산악대원전적비 주변에서 환경정화 봉사활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날 가평읍 주민자치위원들은 겨우내 쌓여있던 낙엽과 쓰레기를 치우며 성큼 다가온 봄을 맞이하였다고 했다. 

이상윤 가평읍 주민자치위원장은 “4월 18일을 기점으로 사회적 거리두기의 해제로 가평읍을 방문하는 상춘객과 지역주민의 야외활동 증가가 예상됨에 따라 깨끗한 환경을 제공하기 위해 환경정화 봉사활동을 실시하게 됐으며 앞으로도 가평읍의 발전을 위해 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.

이에 가평읍행정복지센터 임상호 읍장은 “나눔의 동산이라는 이름처럼 지역주민들에게 깨끗하고 쾌적한 환경을 나누기 위해 이른 시간에도 수고스러움을 마다하지 않는 가평읍 주민자치위원들에게 감사하다.”고 전했다.
