이날 교육은 읍·면 통합사례관리에 대한 이해도를 높이고, 통합사례관리 인력의 역량을 강화해 서비스의 질을 향상시키기 위한 목적으로 추진했으며, 읍·면 통합사례관리 실무자들의 사례관리 기본 개념, 위기가구에 대한 단계별 관찰, 상담, 서비스연계, 사후관리 등 실제 사례중심으로 교육을 실시했다고 전했다.

통합사례관리사업은 지역 내 공공·민간자원에 대한 체계적인 지원체계를 토대로 복합적이고, 다양한 욕구를 가진 대상자에게 복지, 보건, 고용, 주거 등 필요한 각종 서비스를 통합적으로 연계 제공하고, 이를 지속적으로 상담 모니터링하는 사업이라고 했다.
