[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시에서는 주변에 도움이 필요한 취약계층을 발굴하고 지원하고자 희망우체통을 설치·운영하고 있다고 밝혔다.

희망우체통은 사회적 노출을 꺼려 하는 은둔형 잠재적 지원 대상자를 찾기 위한 사업으로, 본인 또는 이웃이 사연을 적어 우체통에 넣으면 관할 사회복지 담당공무원이 대상 가구를 방문, 생활 실태조사 및 상담을 실시하여 맞춤형 복지서비스를 제공하게 된다고 했다.

이용 방법은 어려움을 겪고 있는 사연과 연락처를 작성하여 우체통에 넣기만 하면 되기 때문에 인터넷이나 스마트 기기 활용이 어려운 정보 취약계층도 쉽게 접수할 수 있으며, 24시간 비대면으로 상시 발굴·지원할 수 있다는 장점이 있다고 전했다.

접수된 사연은 개인정보보호법에 따라 비공개로 진행되며, 동 지역사회보장협의체 및 전문기관의 상담과 회의를 통해 필요한 복지서비스를 지원하고, 희망우체통은 시청, 8개동 행정복지센터, 두드림희망센터, 사회복지기관 등 12곳에 설치되어 있으며, 이와 관련된 문의는 각 동 행정복지센터 맞춤형복지팀 또는 동두천시 지역사회보장협의체로 연락하면 된다고 밝혔다.
