[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시는 방역 당국의 지침에 따라 지난 5일부터 국산 1호 코로나 백신인 ‘스카이코비원’ 접종을 시작했다고 밝혔다.

‘스카이코비원’은 인유두종바이러스(HPV), B형간염 등과 같은 다양한 백신 제조에 활용되는 유전자재조합 방식으로 만들어져, 신 기술인 mRNA방식 백신보다 안전성이 입증됐다는 평가를 받는다.

18세 이상 성인 미접종자를 대상으로 1·2차 기초접종만 진행하며, 4주 간격으로 총 2회 접종하게 된다.

원주시보건소는 지난 5일부터 당일 접종을 시작했고, 오는 13일부터는 관내 위탁의료기관 8개소에서 사전 예약을 통해 본격적인 접종이 진행된다.

스카이코비원 접종이 가능한 관내 위탁의료기관으로는 늘푸른의원, 원의원, 원주연세의원, 성지병원, 세인트병원, 지정내과의원, 한빛소아청소년과의원, 한빛이비인후과의원 등이 있다.

사전예약은 코로나19 예방접종 사전예약 시스템, 질병관리청 콜센터, 원주시 코로나19 예방접종 콜센터를 통해서 할 수 있고, 잔여백신 당일 접종은 카카오톡이나 네이버 잔여백신 예약에서 가능하며, 보건소 및 위탁의료기관 예비명단 등록을 통해서도 할 수 있다.

김진희 원주시보건소장은“스카이코비원 백신은 유전자 재조합방식으로 제조돼 안전성이 입증된 만큼, mRNA 백신의 이상 반응 우려로 그동안 백신 접종을 꺼린 분들이 적극적으로 접종에 참여해 주시기를 바란다.”라고 말했다.
