속초시는 선제적 대응조치와 함께 강설 즉시 마을제설단 및 동제설단 투입, 불법주정차차량 이동조치 및 시설관리공단 견인차 확보, 자체 및 임차장비 현장배치 사전준비, 경사지 등 정체 우려지역 그레이더 등 거점 확보 배치 등 최악의 상황를 가정에 총력대응에 나선다고 전했다. 

속초시 관계자는 “신속하고 원활한 제설작업을 위해 차량은 도로변 주차보다는 대형주차장에 주차를 하여 주시고 특히 내 집앞, 내점포앞 눈 치우기에 시민들이 적극 동참을 부탁드린다.”라고 말했다.
