[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 10일부터 여름철을 맞아 시민들이 많이 찾는 '물놀이형 수경시설' 9곳을 대상으로 관리실태 점검에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

물놀이형 수경시설은 수돗물·지하수 등을 인위적으로 저장·순환해 이용하는 인공시설물로, 일반인에게 개방하는 물놀이 시설을 말한다.

물놀이형 수경시설의 수질은 운영 기간 15일에 1회 이상 ‘먹는 물 수질검사기관’ 또는 ‘수질오염물질 측정대행업체’에 의뢰해 검사해야 하고, 저장된 용수는 주 1회 이상 교체하거나 여과기에 1일 1회 이상 통과시켜야 하며, 소독시설을 설치하거나 살균·소독제를 투입하는 등 시설물을 위생적으로 관리·운영해야 한다.

동두천시는 이번 점검을 통해 ▶탁도·대장균·유리잔류염소 등 수질기준 검사항목 준수 ▶소독시설의 설치 또는 살균·소독제 투입 ▶안내판 설치와 수질·관리기준의 준수 여부 등을 확인하고 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산 방지를 위해 시설별로 방역수칙을 철저히 준수하도록 안내하고 있다. 

점검 결과 수질기준 초과 시 즉시 시설가동 중지 또는 개선 조치하고, 관리기준 위반·수질검사 미이행 시설에 대해서는 행정처분 조치할 계획이다.

동두천시 환경보호과장은 “무더위 속 물놀이형 수경시설을 깨끗하고 안전하게 사용하려면 수질을 철저하게 관리해야 한다”며 “특히 어린이들이 안심하고 이용할 수 있는 안전한 물놀이 공간을 조성하기 위해 주의 깊게 살펴보겠다”고 밝혔다.
