김동근 의정부시장은 출근과 동시에 안골지구, 병무청 인근 토사유출 지역, 장암역 인근 축대붕괴 지역 등 수해 피해 현장에 직접 방문했으며 현장에서 관련 부서 직원들에게 피해 상황에 대해 보고를 받았고 추가적인 피해 발생 가능성을 점검했다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “현재 호우가 멈췄지만 장마전선의 북상이 예보 되어 있는 만큼 추가적인 피해가 발생하지 않도록 신속하게 조치를 하라”고 지시했다.

한편, 현재 의정부시에서는 관련 부서 담당자들이 직접 피해 현장을 점검하고 신속한 복구와 피해 확대를 방지하기 위해 만전을 기하고 있다.
