[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주의 대표적인 시장 축제인 문화의 거리 치맥 축제가 지난 2019년 이후 3년 만에 오는 8월 31일부터 9월 3일까지 4일 동안 개최한다고 밝혔다.

오는 31일 수요일 18시에 문화의 거리 중앙무대에서의 개막식을 시작으로, 3일까지 4일 동안 매일 오후 6시부터 밤 9시까지 진행된다.

“지구를 살리는 작은 실천, 텀블러와 함께하는 치맥축제”를 슬로건으로 개최하는 이번 행사는 치킨 구매 고객과 문화의 거리 상점가 영수증을 제시하면 1만원 상당의 텀블러를 제공한다. 

또한, 20% 저렴한 가격에 생맥주를 제공하며, 텀블러를 가져오는 고객에게는 추가로 500원 할인된 가격에 생맥주를 즐길 수 있다.

이 행사는 원주문화원의 ‘천연의 강원감영 원주문화재 야행’과 함께 진행되어 더욱 풍성한 볼거리를 제공할 예정이다.

행사 관계자는 “원주문화의거리 치맥축제는 원주가 통닭으로 유명했던 7~90년대의 명성을 이어나갈 지역의 토종 브랜드 양성을  목표로 브랜드 위주보다는 지역의 토종 업체와 체인화를 준비 중인 다수의 업체가 참여하여 원주의 대표적인 브랜드 양성 및 상권활성화에 기여하는 행사가 되기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
