[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 12일 김동근 의정부시장은 의정부1동주민센터에 설치된 현장 시장실에서 직접 시민을 만나 대화를 나누는 시간을 가졌다 밝혔다.

시민의 삶을 바꾸기 위한 첫걸음으로 의정부시는 현장 시장실을 운영하고 있으며 시민들과 진정성 있는 소통을 하기 위해 시장이 직접 매주 금요일 오전 동주민센터로 찾아가 시민의 목소리를 듣는 방식으로 운영된다.

저마다의 사연을 가지고 많은 시민이 찾아와 시장과 마주 앉아 진솔한 대화를 나눴으며, 상습 침수지역 문제, 각종 주민편의시설 신설 건의, 쓰레기 무단투기 등의 다양한 주제가 줄을 이었고 김동근 시장은 쉴 새 없이 이어지는 면담 속에서도 찾아온 시민 모두와 끝까지 소통하며 가능한 한 해결방안을 찾아내기 위해 고민하는 모습을 보였고 오는 19일에는 의정부2동주민센터에 나가 시민들의 목소리를 들을 예정이다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “주민의 목소리라면 언제든 들을 준비가 되어 있다”며 “현장 시장실은 여러분의 삶을 바꾸는 그날까지 멈추지 않고 운영될 것”이라고 말했다.
