[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 26일, 의정부시청소년재단 의정부시청소년수련관은 어르신과 청소년이 함께 의정부 일대의 쓰레기를 줍는 환경정화활동을 전개했다고 밝혔다. 

해당 봉사활동은 의정부노인종합복지관의 협조를 통해 모집한 어르신 15명과 봉사활동에 관심이 많은 청소년 20여명이 함께 했으며, 본격 활동에 앞서 코로나19 예방 수칙을 포함한 안전교육을 시작으로 세대 간 소통할 수 있는 세대이음활동이 진행되었고, 시대별 유행어를 서로 맞춰보는 시간을 가지며, 어르신과 청소년이 짝꿍이 되어 상대방의 가치관을 알아갈 수 있는 밸런스게임을 통해 소통의 창구를 마련했다고 전했다.

이후 길가에 버려진 담배꽁초, 플라스틱, 비닐 등 각종 쓰레기를 어르신과 청소년이 함께 수거하며 환경보호에 앞장섰다. 단순히 쓰레기를 줍는 활동으로 그치는 것이 아닌 노인세대와 청소년이 발걸음을 천천히 맞춰가며 서로를 이해하는 환경정화 봉사활동이었다.
