[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시는 어르신들이 안전하고 행복한 도시를 만들기 위해 2천440억 원의 예산을 편성해 노인복지 정책을 더욱 강화하고 있다고 밝혔다.

2월 11일 의정부시에 따르면 지난 9일 의정부형 노인 친화적 경로당 시설 조성 사업의 일환으로 경로당 안마의자 서비스를 개시하고 서비스 운영상황을 점검, 시연하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

맞춤형 노인복지사업인 의정부형 노인 친화적 경로당 시설 조성사업은 그간 간판 개선 사업, 입식좌석 개선 사업, 안전난간 및 손잡이 교체 등을 시행해 왔으며, 그 중 경로당 입식좌석 개선 지원 사업은 작년 100여 곳의 경로당에 다용도 입식테이블 및 의자설치를 추가 지원해 좌식테이블 이용에 불편을 겪는 경로당 이용 어르신들의 편의증진을 지원했다고 전했다.

이 밖에도 경로당 스마트환경 구축, 초고령사회를 대비한 경로당 3개소 신축, 어르신 편의증진을 위한 경로당 안전시설 보강 등 신규시책을 지속적으로 추진해 어르신이 살기 좋은 도시, 어르신이 행복한 노인복지 정책을 펼쳐나갈 계획이라고 했다.
