[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 24일 재단법인 의정부시평생학습원과 의정부노인종합복지관은 노인복지 증진 및 사회공헌활동 활성화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 협약식에서는 양 기관에서 운영 중인 네트워크 및 인프라를 활용한 노인지원 프로그램 개발 및 운영, 양질의 노인 일자리 제공 등 사회공헌 활성화를 위한 지속적인 노력과 활동을 다짐하였다고 했다. 

(재)의정부시평생학습원은 의정부노인종합복지관에서 운영 중인 '취약계층 어르신 점심 도시락 배달 사업'의 활성화 지원을 위한 방안으로 전개한 '아이스팩 재활용 캠페인'을 통해 수거한 아이스팩 중 일부를 전달하였고, 이번에 전달한 아이스팩은 환경보호는 물론 취약계층의 어려움을 살피는 등 사회공헌활동의 효과를 더하는 계기가 되었다고 했다.

송원찬 원장은 “이번 업무협약을 통하여 노년층을 지원을 위한 직업교육 과정의 개발과 양질의 일자리를 지원 등 사회공헌활동의 증진을 도모할 수 있는 계기가 되었으며, 지속적인 사회공헌활동을 통하여 시민을 위한 모범적인 평생학습원으로서의 포부를 밝혔다.
