[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10월 22일, 재단법인 의정부시평생학습원은 ‘평생나눔 봉사단’을 주축으로 한국가스안전공사 경기북부지사와 의정부노인종합복지관과 협력하여 의정부 지역 내 독거노인 주거 방문을 통한 봉사활동을 실시하였다고 밝혔다.

봉사활동의 대상은 도시락 지원을 받는 관내 독거노인 가구 중 20가구를 선발하여 3가구를 시작으로 가스 점검, 가스경보기 설치, 도시락 배달, 주거 환경정리 등 실생활에 필요한 분야에 대한 현장 봉사활동을 통해 어르신들의 따뜻한 보금자리를 만들었다고 했다.

의정부시평생학습원 송원찬 원장은 ‘평생나눔 봉사단’에 대한 다방면의 지원을 약속하였으며, “소외되고 어려운 이웃이 희망을 품고 살아갈 수 있도록 함께하는 의정부시를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다. 

한편, 의정부시평생학습원의‘평생나눔 봉사단’은 지난 8월 발대식 개최 이후 유관기관과 협력하여 환경 정화 봉사활동 및 아이스팩 전달 등을 통해 깨끗한 지역사회 형성과 시민 의식 변화를 위해 노력하고 있다고 했다.
