[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 29일 양주시 백석읍은 지역사회보장협의체에서 관내 저소득 계층을 위해 사랑의 이웃돕기 성금 108만 4천원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

기탁받은 성금은 지난 7월 백석읍 마을복지계획 ‘희망파라솔’사업을 통해 마련된 수익금으로 경기도사회복지공동모금회를 통해 도움이 필요한 복지사각지대에 놓인 소외이웃을 위해 사용될 예정이라고 했다.

이날 기탁식에 이어 마을복지계획 사업 ‘미래의 쉐프가 만들었어요’를 진행하여 백석고등학교 학생들이 직접 만든 어묵볶음, 진미채, 제육볶음 등의 반찬을 협의체 위원들이 저소득 가정에 직접 전달했다고 했다.

김길영 공동위원장은 “코로나19 장기화로 인해 더욱 힘든 시간을 보내고 있는 백석읍 주민들에게 미약하나마 따뜻한 마음이 전해졌으면 한다”고 전했다.

고윤구 백석읍장은 “저소득층이 더욱 어려움을 겪고 있는 상황에서 기부해준 성금이 취약계층에게 골고루 전달될 수 있도록 관심을 갖고 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
