대호치과의원은 지난 2020년에도 포천시 아동복지시설 2곳에 각 150만 원을 지원한 바 있으며, 이날 기탁된 성금은 저소득 청소년 2명에게 매달 20만 원씩 1년간 교육비 및 생활비로 지원될 예정이라고 했다.
전대호 대표는 “사회복지 서비스가 다양해졌음에도 불구하고 공적서비스를 받지 못하는 사각지대가 있는 상황을 알게 되면서 안타까웠다. 그러던 중 나눔을 실천해보자는 아내의 권유로 성금을 기탁하게 되었고 어려운 가정의 청소년을 지속적으로 후원하고 싶다.”라고 기탁 동기를 밝혔다.
박윤국 시장은 “부모는 자녀에게 다 해주고 싶은데 경제적인 이유로 해줄 수 없을 때 참으로 괴롭기 마련이다. 이런 가정에 이 성금은 한줄기 희망이 되어 한 가정의 힘든 시기를 이겨낼 수 있는 버팀목이 될 것.”이라며 감사를 표했다.
