[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 20일 동두천시 불현동에 거주하는 장용원 어르신이 설 명절을 앞두고 관내 취약계층에게 전달해 달라며 사랑의 이웃돕기 성금 50만원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

장용원 어르신은 2010년부터 매년 명절과 연말에 정기적으로 성금을 기탁해 지속적으로 이웃사랑을 실천하고 있으며, 자원봉사 활동에도 적극 참여하며 더불어 살아가는 지역사회 만들기에 귀감이 되고 있다고 했다.

장용원 어르신은 “작은 정성이지만 저보다 어렵게 살아가는 소외된 이웃들이 조금이나마 따뜻한 명절을 보냈으면 좋겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

김지일 불현동장은 “불현동의 어려운 이웃을 위해 꾸준한 나눔을 실천해주심에 감사드리며, 전달해주신 성금으로 복지사각지대 저소득 가정을 위해 유용하게 사용하겠다” 고 전했다.
