[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 17일 양주시 백석읍은 바르게살기위원회에서 코로나19로 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 위기이웃을 위해 써달라며 이웃돕기 성금 200만원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

이번 성금은 정부의 ‘단계적 일상회복’이 시행되던 지난 11월 백석읍 바르게살기위원회가 ‘일일찻집’을 운영해 얻은 수익금으로 마련한 것으로 경기사회복지공동모금회를 통해 복지사각지대에 놓인 소외계층에 전달될 예정이라고 했다.

김순자 위원장은 “관내 소외된 이웃들에게 작은 도움이 되길 바라는 마음으로 회원들과 뜻을 모아 기부하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회에 도움을 필요로 하는 이웃들과 함께하는 바르게살기위원회가 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

고윤구 백석읍장은 “코로나19로 인해 모두가 어려운 상황임에도 불구하고 이웃과 온정을 나누고자 기부를 실천해준 바르게살기위원회 회원들에게 감사하다”며 “전달받은 기부금은 지역 내 소외된 취약계층의 따뜻한 겨울나기를 위해 잘 사용하겠다”고 말했다.
