[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 지난 7일 북부지방산림청이 원주종합버스터미널에서 대국민 산불방지 경각심 고취를 위한 산불예방 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 캠페인은 원주시민 및 지역을 방문하는 방문객을 대상으로 홍보물 배부, 피켓, 현수막 게시 등 산불예방의 필요성과 경각심을 높이고 산림보호에 대한 국민의 참여의식을 확산하기 위해 실시했다.

북부지방산림청은 최근 경남 합천, 대전, 충남 홍성, 서울 인왕산, 강원 화천 등 전국적으로 대형산불 발생과 관련하여 모두의 관심이 필요한 때로 입산통제구역에 무단입산을 했을 경우 1차, 2차, 3차 각 10만원, 산림에서 담배꽁초를 버리는 행위를 했을 경우 1차 10만원, 2차, 3차 각 20만원의 과태료 처분을 받을 수 있으므로 주의를 당부했다.

임하수 북부지방산림청장은 “산불은 누군가의 단 한번 실수로 소중히 아끼고 가꾸어온 산림이 한순간에 사라질 수 있다”라고 강조하면서, “아름다운 우리 산림을 미래세대에게 온전히 전달할 수 있도록 온 국민의 각별한 애정과 적극적인 산불 예방 참여를 부탁드린다.”고 말했다.
