[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 지난 7일 김정환 원주지방환경청장이 인제군 북면 월학리에 위치한 흙탕물 저감사업의 일환으로 조성된 계단밭 시범조성지에서 ‘2023년 맑은하천지킴이 발대식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 발대식에는 최상기 인제군수를 비롯해 맑은하천지킴이와 지역주민 등 50여명이 참석했으며 행사는 맑은하천지킴이 활동 공로자에 대한 김 청장의 표창장 수여, 2023년도 지킴이 활동 계획 발표, 흙탕물 줄이기 캠페인 등이 진행됐다. 

캠페인은 참석자들이 '객토 줄이고(GO)! 밭두렁 살리고(GO)! 맑은하천 지키자!'라는 주제의 피켓을 들고 흙탕물 줄이기 실천 구호를 외치는 형식으로 진행됐다. 

한편, 원주지방환경청은  ’맑은하천지킴이‘ 활동 활성화를 위해 다양한 프로그램 운영과 교육을 지원하고, 비점오염원관리지역을 중심으로 흙탕물 줄이기 실천 캠페인을 지속적으로 펼쳐나갈 계획이다. 

김정환 원주지방환경청장은 “흙탕물 저감의 실질적인 효과를 위해서는 지역주민들의 자발적인 참여와 지속적인 관심이 필요하다”라고 당부하며, “앞으로도 맑은하천지킴이 활동을 적극 지원하고 흙탕물 줄이기 실천 확산을 위하여 다양한 캠페인과 홍보를 해나가겠다”고 말했다.
