이번 행사는 '윤석열정부 경기북부 국토정책을 말하다'라는 주제로 특별강연이 이루어졌고 이후 경기북부 시장·군수와 원희룡 국토부장관과의 간담회의 시간을 가졌다.

서 군수는 원희룡 국토부장관과의 간담회에서 가평군 현안사업으로 도로개량사업 변경 및 수도권 정비계획법 규제완화 등을 건의 하였다.

또한, 대통령 공약으로 선정된 GTX-B노선 연장에 대해서도 우리군 입장을 설명하고 적극적인 협조를 부탁하는 등 지역현안 해결에 적극적인 행보에 나서고 있다.

서태원 가평군수는 “지역의 발전을 위해서는 무엇보다 불합리한 수도권 규제 완화가 절실하며, 광역도로망 확충을 통한 지역균형 발전 기반 조성이 필요”하다고 강조하며, “앞으로도 국토부를 비롯한 관계부처에 적극적으로 건의할 예정이며 발로 뛰는 행정을 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
