[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 경기주택도시공사(GH)는 오는 8일 광명학온 공공주택지구(이하 광명학온지구)의 지구계획을 국토교통부로부터 승인받았다고 밝혔다.

광명학온지구는 광명시 가학동 일원 약 68만4천㎡ 부지에 주택 4,317호 규모로 서민 주거안정과 광명시흥 테크노밸리 종사자 등을 위한 배후 주거단지로 조성된다. 

아울러 공공주택 공급뿐만 아니라 광명시흥 테크노밸리 내 도시첨단산업단지 등과 인접해 있고, 전체면적의 약 11%(약 7만2천㎡)가 도시지원시설용지로 계획되어 지역산업 발전 및 일자리 창출을 위한 시너지 효과가 기대된다.  

GH는 올 하반기 설계에 착수하여 2023년 조성공사 착공, 2026년 말 사업 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.

한편 광명학온지구 중심에 서울(여의도)까지 이어지는 신안산선 학온역이 신설돼 2026년 개통될 예정으로, 교통편의성이 크게 향상될 전망이다. 

특히 학온역 중심으로 문화공원을 보행중심 특화공간으로 조성하여 단지 내 어디든 걸어서 접근할 수 있다. 

전형수 GH부사장은 “광명학온지구 조성 사업을 차질 없이 추진하여 수도권 남부의 핵심거점도시가 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
