[남상훈 기자 = 고성군] 지난 21일 고성군은 장애인보호작업장의 전문적인 운영을 위한 위탁 운영기관에 ‘(사)강원도지체장애인협회 고성군지회’가 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

공개모집 이후 심사를 통해 위탁 운영기관으로 선정된 (사)강원도지체장애인협회 고성군지회는 향후 5년간 장애인보호작업장을 운영하면서 인권 존중 분위기 조성에 앞장서면서 양질의 직업제공으로 장애인들의 직업능력 향상에 주력할 예정이다.

한편, 장애인보호작업장은 연면적 506.88㎡(153평) 규모에 작업장, 회의실, 직업훈련실 등을 갖추고 있다. 또한 청소용역과 명태 임가공사업을 통해 장애인들에게 경제적 자립 기반을 조성하고 있다. 이와 더불어 ‘지역사회와 함께 성장하는 행복일터’ 비전을 제시하며 장애인의 직업능력 향상을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다는 평가를 받고 있다.

복지과 신경희 과장은 “지역사회와 유기적 협력체계를 강화해 장애인보호작업장이 지역 장애인들에게 쾌적한 직업 환경을 제공하고 책임감 있게 운영될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
