새로 조성된 공영주차장은 기존 운영하였던 공영주차장의 주차면수(79대) 대비 2배의 규모(160대)로 신축되었으며, 관광객 이용 편의를 위해 버스 주차시설 2면을 포함하여 조성했다.

또한, 통합 관리 시스템 및 주차료 무인정산 시스템, 전기차 충전시설(8대), 장애인 주차(4대) 등을 도입하여 보다 더 쾌적한 시설로 이용객의 편의를 도모했다.

한편,, 황지자유시장 공영주차장 신축은 지난 2019년 중소벤처기업부 전통시장 주차환경개선 사업에 선정된 국비사업으로, 2020년 착공을 시작하여 5층 6단 160대 규모의 대형 주차타워로 조성됐다.
