[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시가 코로나19와 물가 인상 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 시민들에게 1인당 10만 원씩 긴급재난지원금을 지급한다고 밝혔다.

긴급재난지원금 지급은 민선 8기 원강수 시장의 공약사항이며, 이에 원주시는 오는 10월 지급을 목표로 전담 TF팀을 구성하고 오늘(1일)부터 운영에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.

긴급재난지원금 TF팀은 조종용 부시장을 단장으로 2개 팀 11명으로 구성됐으며, 이번 제3차 원주시 긴급재난지원금은 모바일 지역사랑상품권, 신용·체크카드 포인트, 선불카드로 지급할 예정이다. 

특히, 지역경제를 활성화하고자 사용기한을 정해 원주지역 내에서만 사용할 수 있도록 할 방침이다.

원주시는 앞으로 대상자 확정 및 온라인 접수 시스템 구축 작업을 진행하고, 시민 편의를 위해 전용 콜센터와 읍면동 전담 창구를 운영할 계획이다.

원강수 원주시장은 “코로나19 장기화로 힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 시민들의 생활 안정은 물론 소비 진작을 통한 지역경제 살리기에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
