[김준호 기자 = 평창군] 평창에서 세 번째 개최되는 ‘2022 상상평화캠프'는 2018평창동계올림픽 및 동계패럴림픽의 유산사업으로 IOC(국제올림픽위원회)산하기관인 IOTC(국제올림픽 휴전센터)에서 승계받은 국제 청년 교류 캠프이다.

강원도와 평창군이 주최하고 IOTC와 2018평창 기념재단이 공동 주관하는 이번 행사는 IOTC의 올림픽 휴전교육 및 평창 올림픽 시설 투어 등 다양한 프로그램으로 운영된다.

개최 첫 날인 22일은  쇼트트랙 남자 국가대표 곽윤기 선수가 “올림픽 도전의 가치 및 스포츠 정신에 대한 인사이트”라는 주제로, 둘째 날은 명사 특강 세계 분쟁지역 전문 프리랜서 김영미 PD가 글로벌 평화의 가치와 중요성에 대한 강연에 나선다.

이 밖에도 컬링, 크로스컨트리 등 5개 종목을 체험하는 올림피아드 프로그램 참여와 알펜시아 스키점프대, 2018평창동계올림픽 기념관 방문 등 평창을 체험할 수 있는 프로그램도 주어진다.

캠프의 마지막 날에는 지역사회와 글로벌 참여를 도모할 평화증진 아이디어를 발표하고, 심사를 통해 우수한 세 팀을 선정하여 시상과 해단식 행사를 끝마치게 된다.

올림픽 정신 확산을 위한 전 세계 청년 대상 국제교류 캠프는 9월 22일부터 25일까지 4일간 휘닉스평창에서 개최된다.

심재국 평창군수는 “세계를 이끌어갈 청년 리더들이 올림픽 휴전 및 스포츠의 가치에 대해 논의하고, 올림픽 정신을 확산시키는 글로벌 청년리더로서의 활약을 기대한다.”고 말했다.
