[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 6일 포천시는 시청 브리핑룸에서 국제명예협력관 5명을 새롭게 위촉했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 위촉된 포천시 국제명예협력관은 위촉기간 동안 국제교류 도시와의 교류사업 지원 및 자문, 포천시 대외홍보 추진 등의 역할을 수행하게 된다고 했다.

위촉식은 박윤국 포천시장을 비롯해 포천시의회 의장직무대리 송상국 부의장, 이마벳푸 나오코 포천시 국제명예협력관 등이 참석한 가운데 포천시에 거주하는 외국인 시민 4명과 자매도시 시민 1명 등 5명을 신규 국제명예협력관으로 위촉했고, 자매도시 국제명예협력관은 코로나19로 직접 참석이 불가해 화상으로 위촉식을 병행 진행했다고 전했다.

박윤국 시장은 “세계 각 도시들과 활발한 교류를 하기 위해서는 국제명예협력관의 역할이 중요하다.”라며 “포천시가 국제도시로 한층 더 발돋움할 수 있도록 적극적인 협조를 부탁한다.”라고 말했다.
