2019년 메이커스페이스 일반랩 선정 후 지역의 메이커 문화 확산 및 저변 확대를 위한 꾸준한 노력의 결과로, 향후 2023년까지 2년간 총 50억원의 사업비를 지원받게 된다고 했다.

전문대학 중 전국 최초로 전문랩에 선정된 강원도립대학교는 첫째, 고수준 제조 전문 인력양성을 통한 지역 일자리 창출, 둘째, 초도물량 생산부터 양산까지 가능한 OneSite 시스템구축, 셋째, 창업자 마켓 성공 진입을 위한 관리 플랫폼을 구축하게 된다고 했다.
