[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부] 25일 군에 따르면 코로나19로 군민들의 장기간 단절된 일상에 활력을 불어넣고 침체된 지역경제 활성화에 기여하고자 지난 22일부터 자라섬 남도 봄 꽃 정원 유료개방 행사를 진행하고 있다고 밝혔다.

 

가평군의 대표관광명소인 ‘자라섬 남도 꽃 정원’이 개방과 동시, 지난 주말 2일간 3천500여명이 방문하는 등 코로나19로 지친 국민들의 갈증을 해소하고 있다고 했다.

 

첫 개방 주말 3천558명이 찾았으며, 지난 24일 평일에는 541명이 방문하는 등 3일간 4천99명이 자라섬의 자연과 다양한 꽃들로 이루어진 차별화된 볼거리 제공에 흠뻑 취했다고 말했다.

 

이번 행사는 작년 가을에 이어 두 번째이며, 군이 코로나19 장기화에 따라 지난해부터 야심차게 준비했던 꽃 축제를 개방행사로 축소하여 진행하고 있고, 지난해 첫해인 가을 개방기간 동안 11만7300여명이 방문해 하루 평균 3000여명이 다녀갔고, 이 기간 지역화폐인 가평사랑상품권은 4억5000만원이 소진되었으며 농산물 및 음료는 3억3800만원의 매출을 올렸다고 했다.
