회천2동은 다가오는 크리스마스에 소외될 수 있는 관내 취약아동 가정 10가구를 선정, 즐거운 연말 분위기를 만끽할 수 있는 선물을 준비했고, 이날 이벤트에는 홍미영 동장을 비롯해 신옥자 회천2동 공립지역아동센터장과 김선경 회천2동 지역사회보장협의체 공동위원장이 대상 가정을 직접 방문해 크리스마스 케이크를 전달했다고 했다.

신옥자 센터장은 “이번에 전달한 크리스마스 케이크가 포근한 연말 분위기를 더함과 동시에 희망과 위로의 메시지가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

김선경 위원장은 “흰 눈이 펑펑 내리는 크리스마스이브 날 깜짝 선물을 받고 기쁨을 감추지 못한 아이들의 모습이 아직도 눈에 선하다”며 “앞으로도 지역 내 소외되고 어려운 이웃들의 목소리를 경청하고 복지증진을 위한 사업 추진에 매진하겠다”고 전했다.
