[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 5월 7일 의정부시 녹양동주민센터는 녹양동 지역사회보장협의체가 어버이날을 맞이해 홀로 지내는 어르신 50가구를 방문하여 카네이션과 해피박스를 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 지역사회보장협의체 위원들은 어르신들 가슴에 카네이션 브로치를 달아드리고 참치캔, 라면, 김, 파스 등이 담긴 해피박스를 전달하며 안부를 묻고 사랑과 감사의 마음을 전달했다고 말했다.

녹양동 지역사회보장협의체는 2017년부터 10회 이상 꾸준히 해피박스를 통해 소외계층 이웃들에게 관심과 도움의 손길을 전하고 있으며, 지역사회 연계망 구축과 복지사각지대 발굴을 위해 많은 노력과 사업을 적극 펼치고 있다고 했다. 

카네이션과 해피박스를 전달받은 한 어르신은 “집에만 있어서 답답하고 혼자 있다는 게 외로웠는데 나를 이렇게 찾아주고 도와주어 고맙다”고 말했다.

녹양동주민센터 관계자는 “지역사회가 어르신들을 위한 다양한 사업과 프로그램을 기획하고 나눔 활동을 활성화하여 더욱 따듯한 사회를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
