[김준호 기자=삼척시] 삼척시가 겨울철 대중교통을 이용하는 시민들의 편의를 위해 읍·면·동 버스승강장 35개소에 발열 벤치를 설치한다고 밝혔다.

설치장소는 버스 이용객이 많은 동 지역 10개소와 읍·면 교통편의 취약지역 25개소 등 35개소이다. 

시는 지난 1월 발열벤치 구입발주를 완료한 상태이며, 2월 초까지 설치공사를 마무리할 계획이다.

이번 발열벤치 설치로 겨울철 추운 날씨에 대중교통을 이용하는 노인 등 지역 주민들이 따뜻하게 버스를 기다릴 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

□척시 관계자는 “대중교통 이용객 편의 증진을 위해 앞으로도 교통복지정책들을 지속적으로 추진해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.
