[김현우 기자 = 속초] 속초시가 대중교통 편의시설인 버스(택시) 승강장에 대 겨울철 한파 피해 예방을 위한 방풍시설 및 온열 의자 추가 설치사업을 추진한다고 19일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 겨울철 한파대비 재난안전 특별교부세 총 130백만 원을 투입해 비∙바람 등에 취약한 역상형 승강장을 대상으로 방풍시설 36개소, 온열 의자 21개를 추가 설치할 예정이다.

현재 속초시는 시내버스 승강장 총 90개소에 온열 의자를 설치 운영 중에 있으며, 온열 의자는 버스 첫차와 막차 시간에 맞춰 오전 6시부터 오후 11시까지 외부 온도 18도 미만일 경우 자동으로 작동된다. 

이병선 속초시장은 “겨울철 한파 피해 저감시설을 지속적으로 확대 설치하여 추운 겨울 버스를 기다리는 시민들이 이용하는데 불편이 없도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
