[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 28일 양주시 양주2동은 여성친화도시에 걸맞게 양주2동 새마을부녀회가 두레농원에서 ‘사랑의 고추장 담그기’행사를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 이희창, 안순덕 시의원을 비롯해 이두영 양주2동장, 새마을 부녀회원 등 15여 명이 참석해 지역 농산물로 정성껏 고추장을 담갔으며 코로나19 장기화로 식생활에 어려움을 겪는 저소득 가정과 독거노인 등 취약계층 80가구에 전달될 예정이라고 했다.

한순옥 부녀회장은 “코로나19 장기화로 인해 힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 우리 주변의 소외이웃에게 작은 보탬이 되고자 이번 행사를 진행하게 되었다”며 “앞으로도 우리 새마을부녀회는 주변의 어려운 이웃을 위한 나눔활동을 적극 추진하겠다”고 전했다.

이두영 양주2동장은 “귀한 시간을 내어 지역사회 어려운 이웃을 위해 애써주시는 새마을부녀회에 진심으로 감사하다”며 “앞으로도 복지사각지대에 놓인 취약가정을 지속적으로 발굴해 지원해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
