[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시 양주2동은 안순덕 시의원, 토리마을 자치회와 광사초등학교가 함께 진행한 시민감동 리빙랩 프로젝트 사업을 마무리했다고 밝혔다.

‘리빙랩(Living Lap) 프로젝트’는 관내 주민들이 일상생활에서 경험하는 다양한 사회문제를 스스로 발굴하고 해결해 나가는 시민주도형 혁신 프로젝트라고 전했다.

토리마을은 그동안 광사초등학교 등하교 시간에 주정차 문제로 인해 어린이와 주민들의 안전사고와 불편이 대두되어 이를 해소할 수 있는 방안 마련이 필요한 상황이라고 했다.

이에 양주2동에서는 토리마을을 리빙랩 사업대상지로 선정하고 추진위원단을 구성하여 4회에 걸친 회의를 통해 광사초 학생들의 등하교 시간에 학부모 차량 등이 회차할 수 있는 공간을 마련하기로 하고 광사초등학교 앞 특목고 부지에  회차지를 조성하여 지난 9월 27일부터 개방 운영 중이라고 밝혔다.

이두영 양주2동장은 “이번 리빙랩 프로젝트를 통해 지역주민들과 함께 고민하고 토리마을 내 등하교 시간의 주정차 차량으로 인한 안전사고 예방과 학생들의 안전한 등하굣길을 조성하였다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다”며 “앞으로도 지역의 문제를 주민들과 함께 고민하고 적극적으로 해결해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
