[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 15일 양주시 양주2동은 직장·공장새마을운동 양주시협의회에서 코로나19 사태 장기화로 어려움을 겪는 주민을 위해 문화상품권 37매 및 백미 10kg 3포를 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

양주2동은 기부받은 문화상품권과 백미를 사회복지공동모금회를 통해 도움이 필요한 저소득층 다자녀 가구에게 전달할 예정이라고 했다.

앞서 협의회는 지난 4일 위생도마 40세트 및 마스크 2,000장을 기부하여 어려운 시기에도 어려운 이웃에 대한 기부를 이어나가 훈훈함을 더하고 있다고 했다. 

오수영 회장은 “코로나19로 힘들어하는 저소득층 다자녀가구 지원을 위해 나눔을 진행하게 됐다”며 “작은 정성이지만 자라나는 아이들에게 응원의 마음이 잘 전달되길 바라며 앞으로도 취약계층에 대한 지속적인 관심을 가지겠다”고 말했다.

최계정 동장은 “코로나19로 모두가 힘든 상황인데도 불구하고 저소득층 다자녀가구에게 사랑의 온정을 베풀어 주신 직장·공장새마을운동 양주시협의회 관계자분들께 진심으로 감사드리며 기탁된 성품은 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 잘 전달하겠다”고 전했다.
