이번 양심화분 설치는 시민참여 꽃 심기 사업과 연계, 그동안 상습 쓰레기 불법 무단투기로 인해 미관을 저해하고 환경적으로 문제가 많았던 지역에 자체적으로 버려진 폐목을 재활용 한 화분을 설치해 고질적인 불법 쓰레기 무단투기 문제를 해소하고자 마련했다고 했다.

앞서 양주2동은 지난 7일 지역 유관단체 및 시민들과 함께 관내 상습 쓰레기 무단투기지역 11곳의 쓰레기를 모두 수거하고 정비했다고 전했다.

최계정 동장은 “양심화분 설치를 통해 보기 좋은 경관 조성과 쓰레기 무단투기 감소 효과가 있을 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 쾌적한 도시 환경을 만들어 갈 수 있도록 주민들의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
