[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10월 8일 양주시 광적면은 새마을부녀회가 관내 독거노인 등 취약계층을 위한 ‘사랑의 고추장 담그기’ 행사를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 코로나19로 인해 어렵고 소외된 이웃에게 따뜻한 마음을 전하고자 마련했으며, 농민이 직접 수확한 빛깔 좋은 햇고춧가루와 천일염 등 최상의 재료로 전날부터 엿기름을 끓이는 등 정성을 다해 만들었다고 전했다.

이날 부녀회원들은 이른 아침부터 만든 고추장 200kg을 2kg씩 개별 포장해 관내 어려운 이웃 100가구에게 직접 방문해 전달하며 안부를 확인했다고 밝혔다.

박보윤 회장은 “최고급 재료로 엄선해 정성스럽게 담근 고추장을 이웃들이 맛있게 드시고 더불어 사는 행복을 느꼈으면 좋겠다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 봉사활동을 통해 따뜻한 지역공동체 조성을 위한 노력을 아끼지 않겠다”고 전했다.

권순용 광적면장은 “늘 어려운 이웃들의 먹거리를 걱정하고 지역사회 봉사에 열정을 다하는 새마을 부녀회원분들께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “코로나19로 더욱 힘든 시기를 보내는 이웃들에게 사랑이 온전히 전해지기를 바란다”고 말했다.
