[남상훈 기자 = 고성군] 지난 2일 고성군은 해양수산부 ‘23년 친환경 양식어업 육성사업’ 공모 결과 친환경 양식시설 민간분야에 1개소가 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

본 공모사업은 친환경‧고부가가치 양식품종의 생산 증대를 위하여 양식어업의 기반 시설을 확충하고 수산종자 및 양식시설을 첨단‧친환경 양식 시스템으로 지원해 주는 사업으로 오는 2023년부터 2024년까지 2년간 40억원(국비 12억원, 지방비 12억원, 민간16억원)이 투자된다.

고성군은 이번 공모사업을 통해 한해성 어종 생산 기반시설을 마련하고 이와 더불어 도내 최초로 친환경 순환여과양식시스템(RAS)을 채택해 양식생산의 안정성 확보와 사육수로 인한 환경오염을 최소화할 예정이다.

고성군 관계자는 “본 기반시설은 당초 공모사업 취지에 맞도록 동해안에 서식하고 있는 한해성 어종 양식에만 적용되며 향후 강원도에서 추진하는 연어클러스터 사업과 연계하여 지역 특성화 산업으로 육성이 가능하다.”라고 말했다.
